Loon Decoys

Unlike my cork decoys, these loons are carved entirely from wood; basswood to be exact. These birds measure 17 ½ inches from chest to tip of tail, are 7 inches at their widest point and 8 inches in height. These medium sized birds have felted bottoms and are smaller than the actual size of loons. Their price reflects the increased: cost of materials used for fabrication, time involved in carving, size of the birds, and the degree of difficulty in painting them, in this unique style.  Each loon is signed, dated, numbered and felted.
